Household
Every year, millions of water products are sold to improve the quality of the water used in the home. In the US alone, consumers spend billions of dollars on bottled water, chemicals, filters, and other equipment to improve the taste and quality of their drinking water. As consumers become better educated about the growing list of contaminants found in the water coming out of their taps, they are taking action to ensure the water they and their families drink is healthy and great tasting.

Seldon’s product for the household, the WaterTap, is made to be installed at the point of use, providing clean, great tasting water. The system, comprised of a pre-filter and a filter, can be easily installed under most sinks. Its replaceable filters provide hundreds of gallons of clean water without the need for chemicals, electricity, or significant contact time. It does not need to be plugged in nor does it require a holding tank.
Outdoors/Sports
Recreational activities in the outdoors are enjoyed by millions of Americans every year. Whether they are hiking, camping, boating or RVing, they are finding ways to escape the rigors of daily life and find relaxation on trails, lakes, and backroads. Unfortunately, the water they are finding is often not fit for consumption. Too often contaminants such as giardia, viruses, and organic chemicals foul once-pure water sources. Portable products that are available to protect against these agents rely on technologies including potentially harmful chemicals such as iodine and chlorine and electricity-dependent ultraviolet radiation.

Carrying Seldon’s WaterStick on an outdoors adventure means virtually any source of natural water can once again provide clean, great-tasting water. No longer must one endure the residual taste of chemicals or waiting 30 minutes until a cup of water is considered drinkable. By simply sucking through the straw-like device, a user enjoys great tasting water that is reliably clean.
Travel

What constitutes drinking water varies from continent to continent, from country to country and even from city to city. If you are among the 10 million Americans who travel every year to a region with suspect drinking water, you know that just ensuring your water is clean is no small feat. Wondering whether a bottle of water is truly clean and when the last time the hotel’s water filtration system was serviced are not how you want to spend your vacation.

Including Seldon’s WaterStick in your plans for international travel means you have one less thing to worry about. By simply sucking through the straw-like device, a traveler enjoys great tasting water that is reliably clean.

Health Care
There are over 500,000 heath care facilities in the US – all of which provide drinking water to patients, staff, and other visitors. In these settings it is particularly important that there be a water treatment solution that ensures the drinking water is reliably free of microorganisms and other contaminants.

Seldon’s WaterTap product is the perfect solution for a heathcare provider who wants to ensure the drinking water it is providing is clean. Seldon’s technology, independently shown to meet or exceed EPA microorganism removal criteria, means that every sip of water will be clean and fresh. The system, simple to operate, requires only that the user periodically change the filters, according to the instructions.
Emergency Response
In the coordinated response to any disaster, one of the first, critical tasks is to ensure victims have access to clean drinking water. Tanker trucks are often sent in with clean water or pallets of bottled water are shipped in. The logistics of transporting large volumes of clean water are daunting and, with the rising price of oil, increasingly expensive.

Seldon has a better alternative. Its WaterBox is the size of a suitcase and can provide thousands of people with clean drinking water every day. An emergency responder can plug the unit into a power source such as a vehicle or generator, drop the intake hose into an available water source such as a pond or a lake and clean, safe water is produced at up to a gallon per minute.

Another option is to keep on hand a number of the WaterSticks which can be handed out in the case of an emergency to first responders or victims to ensure they have reliable access to clean water.
Humanitarian

Nowhere is the need for water that is free of microorganisms greater than in many parts of the developing world. Worldwide, more than 2.2 million people die each year from diseases caused by unclean water and poor sanitary conditions. Every five seconds, a child dies from a water-borne disease. Finding technologies, products, and policies that help to alleviate or prevent this suffering is a critical need.

Seldon has deployed its products in a clinic in Rwanda and a site in Ghana to evaluate how effective its technology can be in this battle against waterborne contagion. The results to date have been inspiring. Seldon’s WaterTap and WaterBox are ideal tools humanitarian relief workers can use to help them meet their missions.

Military

Seldon is currently working closely with the US Air Force to develop a product that will meet very specific military needs for water treatment. Currently, on any given day, one-third of deployed troops in Iraq & Afghanistan are combat ineffective due to intestinal problems from unclean water. Seldon has received active and immediate interest in its products intended for the military due to the urgent need in the field.

The military is currently evaluating our products for their requirements. All branches of the military will be important purchasers of Seldon’s portable water purification units. Individual troops in the field will benefit from having a durable, reliable unit for ensuring a ready supply of potable water. Seldon’s WaterBox and WaterStick products will clean water of impurities at their point of use more effectively than any other product. The WaterStick is designed to snap into existing military hydration packs. For larger groups of warfighters, the portable WaterBox can be easily plugged into an electricity source, such as a standard military vehicle, or portable generator and quickly produce clean water from ditch water, at a rate of up to one gallon per minute.
Municipal

Seldon is currently working on disaster relief water systems for municipalities.  These systems will be targeted toward replacing warehouses of bottled water maintained around the country by the Department of Homeland Security.
